August 2024 Update

Greetings! I hope everyone is doing well. I want to thank everyone for your support as you prayer for the work God is among the displaced indigenous people here in Bogota. Please pray that the word of Christ would speed ahead and be honored, that the gospel would advance throughout the world unhindered. I have now been in Colombia for twelve years. I arrived in Bogota in August of 2012 to work with indigenous university students. In January of 2013, I began working alongside another missionary focusing on the displaced indigenous in Bogota. The missionary with whom I was working has since left Colombia. I have worked at times alone and at other times with Colombian believers. I currently work alongside both US and Colombian missionaries. And more Colombian partners are beginning to get involved in the displaced indigenous work. The displaced population in the city is in flux. They change locations in the city. The move back to their territory or to another part of the country. At times, those who leave Bogota come back for a while. None of the people I started working with in Bogota are still here. All of the indigenous I met those first few years in Bogota have left the city. But throughout all the changes over the past twelve years, God has remained faithful. He will continue to be faithful.

March 2024 Update

Greetings! Spring is nearly here. I hope each of you is doing well. I would like to thank all of you for praying for the work God is doing not only among the displaced indigenous peoples of Colombia with whom I work but also for what God is doing throughout the world. I have just completed my furlough in the States and traveled back to Colombia on Leap Day. The days before I flew out, I was able to make brief visits with my sisters in Mississippi and Alabama. So please pray for me as I get resettled back in Bogota. Moreover, pray that the word of Christ would speed ahead and be glorified among all peoples, that the gospel would advance unhindered, and that those who walk in darkness would see a great light. As we approach Resurrection Sunday later this month, may we seek to proclaim our Lord’s death and resurrection to everyone we can so that others may come to faith in Christ.

First update of 2024

Greetings! It’s hard to believe we have already entered the second month of the new year. I hope everyone is doing well. I would like to thank you each of you for praying for the work God is doing not only among the displaced indigenous peoples of Colombia with whom I work but also for what God is doing throughout the world. I am currently in the States through the end of this month. And although I am in the States, please continue to pray for the work in Bogota.

Moreover, pray that the word of Christ would speed ahead and be glorified among every tribe, nation, people, and tongue. Pray that the gospel would advance unhindered and that its power would demolish any and all barriers Satan tries to amass against it. Pray that those who walk in darkness would see a great light. As we remember the birth of our Lord, let us remember that his birth is good news of great joy for all people for he came to live and die for the world.
