Pray for the Katíos

Here's a quick update on the Katíos. Many displaced Katíos were living in a rough neighborhood that had both indigenous and non-indigenous people.  Tension have been rising for some time now.  Over a week ago, a non-indigenous man killed a Katío man. This resulted in all the indigenous people in the neighborhood (≈350) to move out and begin living in a nearby city park.

September Update!

Greetings!

Thank you for continuing to pray for me and the work God is doing in Colombia.  Here's a quick update.

We have not resumed the event for the Katío kids.  But, please continue to pray for the work we are doing. We are still able to visit with several families in their neighborhood.  Please pray that we will be able to clearly communicate the gospel. There is still a language barrier with their Spanish. And currently no resources are available in their language. Indigenous work takes a lot of patience.  Pray that the Spirit of God will take the gospel we proclaim and birth new life in them. Pray that they will come to know the Lord Jesus and that a church will be started.

August 2018 Update

Thank you all for praying for me.  Here's a quick update.

For the past few weeks, we have been having an event for the Emberá Katío kids at a Baptist local church close to the neighborhood where they live. We served them breakfast and lunch, had games, a Bible story, and other fun things for them.

Please pray that this time will be fruitful and open up doors to reach out to other families that live in the neighborhood.

Update

Hello everyone!  Thank you for continuing to pray for me and the work God is doing in Colombia.

Please continue to pray for the work among the Wounaan.  We have been looking at various passages in Philippians with them. Please pray that they would continue to grow. Sercelino continues to have health issues that need to be resolved. Pray that he will get the treatment he needs. There are also some younger Wounaan with a growing interest in studying the Word. Pray that God will use them in a great way for the gospel.

Panama Trip

Greetings! I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you for praying for me. Here's a new update concerning my trip to Panamá I took a few weeks ago. I was able to visit believers from the Wounaan and the Emberá peoples. It was a short trip, and I wish I could have had a little more time to get to know the people I met better.

Update

Hello!

Here's a quick update.

A few weeks ago, we met a Cubeo man named Pedro. He lives in a shelter with other displaced indigenous peoples from the department of Guainía on the eastern side of the country along the border with Venezuela. We have been able to make a few brief visits to the shelter. Please pray that door will open up for us to establish relationships and proclaim the gospel to the people there.

February Update

I hope everyone is doing well. Thank you for praying for me and for the work God is doing in Bogota.

I mentioned in my last update that Sercelino, one of the Wounaan believers, has had some more threats to his life. He seems to be doing well. He is at home, and the threats seem to have subsided. Pray that he will continue to be safe and trust in the faithfulness of our Lord.
