August 2018 Update

Thank you all for praying for me.  Here's a quick update.

For the past few weeks, we have been having an event for the Emberá Katío kids at a Baptist local church close to the neighborhood where they live. We served them breakfast and lunch, had games, a Bible story, and other fun things for them.

Please pray that this time will be fruitful and open up doors to reach out to other families that live in the neighborhood.
We are also continuing to visit with the Wounaan and the shelter where those from Guainía live. A few Guainians from the shelter have been visiting the local Baptist church on Sundays and we continue to visit with them on Wednesday.

With the Wounaan, we have been looking at various passages in Philippians. Pray that they will be discipled and have a desire to reach other Wounaan with the gospel.

Here are a few prayer concerns to keep in mind:

• That we will be able to disciple the Wounaan believers so that they may continue to grow in the faith, see the grand story of the Bible in the gospel, and apply the Word to their lives.

• That the Wounaan in Bogotá will be mobilized to send out their own missionaries to reach their on people in Chocó.

• That we would see many Katío come to Christ and that biblical churches planted among the Katío. Pray that our time ministering to the kids (and the adults who come) will open many opportunities to proclaim the gospel among the Katíos. 

• That I will be devoted to the Word, prayer, and the task at hand and grow closer to the Lord each and every day.

• That the Name of Christ would be great among all peoples as the gospel is proclaimed to the ends of the earth.
