Prayer Request

Hello again. Here's a brief update.

The past month, I have taken two trips. One to a Bible conference in Florida. The theme this year was Law & Gospel. I had a great time, really enjoyed it, and got a few new books.

Immediately following that trip, I went to Virginia for another conference, This conference was for other missionaries on furlough. It was great to see many friends I haven't seen in a while and meeting many new ones.

I also have had some medical issues to deal with. I had surgery on December 20.  I am doing well.  Please pray for a speedy recovery and for medical clearance to return to the field.  I hope to be able to return by February.

Back in Bogotá

 Hello everyone!

I'm back in Bogotá. Thank you for your prayers. I spent a week in Mitú, Vaupés in eastern Colombia near the border with Brasil. After less than a day back in Bogotá from the Mitú trip, I had another trip to Panamá. So it's been a tiring two weeks.

Another trip to Mitú…

Greetings!
Thank you for all your prayers. I greatly appreciate them. I wanted to let you know about another upcoming trip to the jungle. My team will be traveling again to Mitú in the eastern part of the country near the Brazilian border. We will be meeting with some believers there and teaching a few stories from the Bible. We will be also doing a some vacation Bible schools with the kids in the indigenous community. We will also visit several of the nearby communities along the river to explore the need in the area for further missionary work. There are only a few flights a week out to the area where we are going. We will be there for a week. We leave on Friday and will return on Friday. Please pray that the trip will be fruitful.  Thank you for praying. I will write more about the trip when I return.

Once I return, I have another trip to Panamá for some meetings with other missionaries. I leave the day after I return from Mitú.

2 Corinthians 5:20-21
Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ,
as though God were making an appeal through us;
we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God.
He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf,
so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

Mitú

Hello everyone! Thank you for your prayers.  Here's a quick update.

In my previous post, I mentioned that I was going to travel to Mitú, a town in eastern Colombia near the border with Brasil. And now, I have been there and made it back. I went there with two Colombian believers and another IMB missionary who lives in another part of Colombia. The trip went really well. It was good being able to see more of Colombia and be away from the big city for a while. Mitú is a much smaller town, and since it's in the jungle, it's very hot and humid.

February 2019

Hello everyone! I greatly appreciate your prayers for me and the work here in Colombia. Thank you!

Here's a quick update. We are continuing to work with the Wounaan here in Bogotá. We are starting to do some leadership training for them in hopes that they may be able to evangelize their own people with the gospel. We plan to teach on various commands of Jesus in the gospel (Mat 28:20) and on key aspects of a biblical church. Please pray that they will be discipled and mobilized to evangelize other Wounaan. Pray that many churches will be planted as they grow in their faith.

January 2019

Greetings! Thank you for your prayers.

I recently returned from a trip to Chocó to visit a Katío community.  Some missionary colleagues of mine working with indigenous in Medellín have been engaging Katíos. One Katío man with whom they have been working moved back to Chocó and invited them to the community. One visit had already been made in December, and I accompanied them in their second visit this month. During this visit, we were able to teach on the story of the Flood and the Tower of Babel.

Please pray that we may be able to continue visiting the Katío community and see them come to know the hope that we have in Christ.
