New Update!

Well, it's time for another update.  Thank you for your prayers.  I hope that this newsletter finds you well and serving the Lord.  As I mentioned in my last update, I participated in a conference a few months ago.  Well, one of the men (Jorge) I worked with at the conference has been utilizing what he learned back in his home town.  Toward the end of September, Stan (another missionary) and I will travel to Quindío in order to follow up with him, to find out what he has been doing, and to train him further.  While we are over in that area of Colombia, we will also travel to Risaralda to visit another man (Francisco) who also attended the conference.  Please pray that these visits will be fruitful.

July Update

Hello everyone!

Thank you for your prayers. Here's an update. I am continuing to meet several times a week with some of the Chamí believers. They have had a lot of meetings lately relating to the shelter where they live, so finding time to meet with them while they are free has been difficult. But I have had several good studies with them. Also, Alex Montgomery a new missionary who has recently arrived in Bogota has been accompanying me downtown when he is free to do so.

Update!

Hello everybody! I hope all is well with each of you.  Thank you for your prayers. Here's an update.

I am continuing to meet several times a week with the Chamí believers.  Stan, with whom I have been working, has gone back to the States for a three months for stateside. So I am now working with them by myself. Please pray that they will continue to grow in the Lord as I disciple them in the Word. Also pray that others among the Chamí in Bogotá will come to know the Lord through these believers and that a strong church will be planted among them.

March Update

Hello, I hope everything is going well with all of you.  Thank you for your prayers.  I am getting adjusted to my new assignment here.  I am finally settled in to my new apartment.  I have gotten furniture and other things needed to make it feel like home.

I have started to do research on the indigenous groups.  A couple of weeks ago, I flew to Risaralda, Colombia to speak to a Wycliffe missionary concerning some of groups with whom he has worked. The trip proved to be quite helpful in clarifying and correcting some information we have.

New Ministry Here in Bogota

Thank you for your prayers. They are truly appreciated. Here is a brief update.  I would like to announce that I have a new ministry here in Bogota.  I am no longer working at the student center with indigenous students.  Now, I will be doing two other things.  I am excited to see what God is going to do.

First, I will be doing research on the various indigenous groups in Colombia to determine their level of evangelization, access to scripture, missionary presence, etc. and developing a database for this information.
