Merry Christmas!

I hope each of you have a wonderful Christmas season as we celebrate the incarnation of our Lord and the reason He became flesh—that we might have peace with God through the gospel.

Thank you for remembering me in your prayers. Here is a quick update.

I mentioned in a previous entry that one of the Wounaan believers, Cercelino, had some death threats and was forced into hiding. Well, he has now been able to return to Bogotá and is home with his family. Praise God for His faithfulness. Please pray that he would continue to be safe and that God would continue to use him to proclaim the gospel among the Wounaan people.

October Update

Hello! I hope everyone is doing well. I wanted to do a quick update for you.

Thank you for praying for the work that is going on here in Colombia. As I mentioned in my last update, one of the Wounaan believers with whom we have been working has been moved to a more secure location due to his life being threatened. His is still in that safe location. Many in his family have become more interested in studying the Bible with us. So continue to pray for the Wounaan. Pray that the believers would grow in their faith. Pray that the Spirit would open the eyes of unbelievers to receive the gospel. Pray that strong churches would be planted both here in Bogotá and back in Chocó where the Wounaan are from.

September Update

Greetings! Thanks for supporting me through your prayers.  I know it's been a while since my last update. Here are a few things that are going on right now.

One of the indigenous men with whom my team has been studying is one of the community leaders for his people group.  Some others in the community who don't like that he's a believer have threatened his life.  We have connected him with an organization that helps people in situations like this, and they have helped him find a safer place to live in light of these threats.

It has been a very trying time for him and his family.  Also, several people from his family have become interested in learning more about the Bible Please pray for his safety and that of his family, that he would continue to trust in the Lord during this time, and that God would use this to spread the gospel.

My team has also begun to work with a Katío family, another people group he in Bogotá.  The family we are visiting lives in a rough area of the city that's filled with drugs and prostitution.  We have been able to visit with the family and begun to share Bible stories with them.  This work here is in the very early stages. Please pray that this will lead to many new believers and a new church.

In a couple of weeks, I will be traveling to Costa Rica for a retreat.  Pray that it will be a time of rest and reconnecting with other missionaries.

Again, thank you for your prayers.

New Apartment

Fellow laborers!

Greetings to all and thank you for supporting me in your prayers. Here's is a quick update.

As I have mentioned in previous updates, I have been looking for a new place that is closer to where I am working. Well, I have found one. So my commute will be cut significantly. I will be able to walk to the church I'm attending and have easy access to the bus that goes out to Lucero Alto where the Wounaan live. Pray that the move will go smoothly.

Storying with the Wounaan

Greetings!

Thank you for praying for the work God is doing here in Colombia.  Prayer is a vital part of missions. So please continue to pray that the Word of the Lord may speed ahead and be honored (2 Thes 3:1), that the Lord of the harvest would send out laborers into His harvest (Mat 9:37-38), that God would open doors for the Word (Col 4:3), and that I may boldly proclaim the gospel (Eph 6:18-19).
