New Apartment

Fellow laborers!

Greetings to all and thank you for supporting me in your prayers. Here's is a quick update.

As I have mentioned in previous updates, I have been looking for a new place that is closer to where I am working. Well, I have found one. So my commute will be cut significantly. I will be able to walk to the church I'm attending and have easy access to the bus that goes out to Lucero Alto where the Wounaan live. Pray that the move will go smoothly.

This weekend, there will be a church planting meeting with the Colombian Baptist Denomination. During this time my team will be able to tell others about the Wounaan work. Pray that we can increase our prayer support and perhaps find others who are interested in becoming involved in the work.

Please continue to pray as we teach through the Bible using chronological Bible storying. We are up to Moses nowAs we teach the stories, we try to help them better understand who God is and what His plan is through His Son, Jesus. So as we wend our way through the stories of Scripture, we want them to understand it as one story that is centered on Christ and the gospel. Please pray that God will continue to do a work in their hearts that they may grow in the faith and spread the gospel to their own people.

Last Sunday, we took the Wounaan believers to the local Baptist church where I'm attending. The photo above is of the Wounaan and some of the members of that church. We had songs in both Spanish and Wounaan. It was good for both the members of the local Baptist church and those of the Wounaan church to meet one another and feel a sense of the universal aspect of the church that included people from every tribe, nation, people, and tongue (Rev 5:9; 7:9).

Here are some prayer concerns:

• That we will be able to disciple the Wounaan believers so that they may continue to grow in the faith, see the grand story of the Bible, and apply the Word to their lives.

• That the meeting with the Baptist denomination will be fruitful.

• That the Wounaan in Bogotá will be mobilized to send out their own missionaries to reach their on people in Chocó.

• Praise: Thanking God that I have been able to find an apartment in the southern part of Bogotá.

• That I will be devoted to the Word, prayer, and the task at hand and grow closer to the Lord each and every day.

• That the Name of Christ would be great among all peoples as the gospel is proclaimed to the ends of the earth.

Colossians 1:9-14
And so, from the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, asking that you may be filled with the knowledge of his will in all spiritual wisdom and understanding, 10 so as to walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing to him, bearing fruit in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. 11 May you be strengthened with all power, according to his glorious might, for all endurance and patience with joy, 12 giving thanks to the Father, who has qualified you to share in the inheritance of the saints in light. 13 He has delivered us from the domain of darkness and transferred us to the kingdom of his beloved Son, 14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
