Back in Bogotá

 Hello everyone!

I'm back in Bogotá. Thank you for your prayers. I spent a week in Mitú, Vaupés in eastern Colombia near the border with Brasil. After less than a day back in Bogotá from the Mitú trip, I had another trip to Panamá. So it's been a tiring two weeks.

In Mitú, my team did a Vacation Bible School for the kids in an indigenous neighborhood just outside of the town of Mitú. We taught on the attributes of God and on the gospel. We also met with several indigenous families in the area and with another missionary who has been in the area for a few years. My two other team members are plan to move to the area in 2020.  There are over a dozen indigenous groups in the area, half of which are considered unreached. So the need there is great.

After spending a week in Mitú, I flew back to Bogotá, arriving back at my apartment at ≈9:00 pm only to leave for the airport about ten hours later. I had some meetings with some other missionaries who also work with indigenous groups in the Americas.

During these meetings, we looked at Bible storying, and how storying can be used in evangelism, discipleship, and leadership training. It was also a great time of fellowship, seeing friends I haven't seen in a long time and meeting new friends.

Now that I'm back in Bogotá, I have a little over a month before I return to the States for six months. Please pray that I can maximize these weeks before I leave. Pray for me as I help disciple the Wounaan believers. Pray as I visit the shelters with people from eastern Colombia live. Pray as I evangelize among the Katíos. When I return to the States, my Colombian team members will continue the work. So I'm very thankful that the work will continue in my absence.

Again, thank you all for praying for me.

a holy nationa people for God’s own possession
so that you may proclaim the excellencies of Him
who has called you out of darkness
into His marvelous light.
