I'm going to Colombia

For those who have not heard the news, I'm not going to Mexico.

Monday, August 6, I leave the States for Bogotá, Colombia. I will be working with indigenous students in Bogotá, Colombia. The purpose of the Indigenous Student Ministry is to evangelize and disciple indigenous students so that they will return to their towns and reservations with the Gospel. The student center is a house near the campus of the national university in Bogotá where the students can come to study, buy a hot lunch, receive tutoring, experience tangible examples of God's love and hear the Gospel.

Please pray for safe travel and a smooth transition as I begin serving in a new capacity.

Back in the States.

Here's a brief update: I have completed my first term on the field with the IMB and returned from Peru. I will now be spending a little time in the States.

I have already participated in one missions conference in Thomas Station, TN. In a couple of weeks, I will be speaking at another church in Tennessee. I will have about three more conferences until I return to the field.

Please pray that my time here will be fruitful as I speak at various churches concerning missions and as I spend time with family.

When I return to the field in May, I will be going to Mexico. Please pray that the transition will go well.

I am still going to Yanama. But it has been difficult for the groups to have a time where they can all meet due to conflicting schedules. Please pray that an arrangement can be made where I can study with them and disciple them.

In June, a team from my home church, Grace Life Church of the Shoals, came to Peru for a week to help me here in Pomabamba. To my surprise, my mother was on the team as well. So I was extra excited about that. I would like to thanks to the small group classes at GLC that paid her way, and also for the care package you sent. Please continue to pray as I continue to follow up with the contacts made. Please pray that God will open up hearts to hear the Gospel and that God will call out for himself a church.
