Update

I hope everything is going well for all of you. Thank you for your prayers.

I am still going to Yanama. But it has been difficult for the groups to have a time where they can all meet due to conflicting schedules. Please pray that an arrangement can be made where I can study with them and disciple them.

In June, a team from my home church, Grace Life Church of the Shoals, came to Peru for a week to help me here in Pomabamba. To my surprise, my mother was on the team as well. So I was extra excited about that. I would like to thanks to the small group classes at GLC that paid her way, and also for the care package you sent. Please continue to pray as I continue to follow up with the contacts made. Please pray that God will open up hearts to hear the Gospel and that God will call out for himself a church.

At the end of June, there was a general meeting for all the IMB missionaries in five countries. It was a great time of fellowship, meeting new friends and reconnecting with old ones.

Please continue to pray for the relationships I have developed with various people in town. They are unwilling to close their store or business to study Scripture, but I study with them some while their stores are open which obviously includes distractions as customers come by.

Continue to pray for Acasio as I disciple him. I study with him about twice a week. I can see a growth his hunger for the Word.

I met a man the other day who expressed an eager interest in wanting to study. His name is Guillermo. Please pray as I follow up with him.

I only have about two months left in Pomabamba so please pray that I will make the most of my remaining time here. Also, please pray as I make a decision concerning where to go for my second term. My original assignment was in Bolivia, and I was only going to be in Peru for a year or so. But now the assignment in Bolivia no longer exists. Please pray that God will give me wisdom as I review the available assignments as to where to go next.

Col 4:3 — At the same time, pray also for us,
that God may open to us a door for the word,
to declare the mystery of Christ.

2Thes 3:1 — Finally, brothers, pray for us,
that the word of the Lord
may speed ahead and be honored,
as happened among you.
