Greetings from the land of coffee! I hope each of you is doing well and enjoying the summer. "The joy of the LORD is our strength" (Neh 8:10). I would like to thank everyone who has been faithful in praying for me. Prayer is a much needed part of the Great Commission task. Your partnership with me through prayer enables you to become a part of the work God is doing through me in Colombia. Thank you.
I am continuing to make visits downtown with the Chamí. It is still difficult to have a consistent time of sharing stories from the Word with them. Often they are busy selling their handicrafts to have a good time of studying the Word. It is also difficult to find them at home. Please pray that I may have fruitful time in the Word with the Chamí and other indigenous people who are displaced in Bogotá.
I was able to have a few good visits with one man named Abraham. He used to live in the shelter, and I would visit with him often. But since he moved out of the shelter, it has been difficult to catch him at home. Please pray that I may continue to have good quality time with him in the Word.
There is also a need to have nationals help in the work among the displaced indigenous of Bogotá. This is particularly urgent since I will returning stateside for five months starting in October. Please pray that a national will be able to assist me and help continue the work while I'm in the States.
Here are some specific ways you can continue pray for me:
• Pray for me as I seek to find Colombians believers to help out with the work among the displaced in Bogotá.
• Pray that I will be able to engage the displaced Chamí in downtown Bogotá with the gospel.
• Pray for me as I seek out other displaced indigenous groups in Bogotá with whom to build relationships that bear gospel fruit. One such group that is in Bogotá are the Wounaan.
• That I will be able to do the much needed research of the indigenous groups in Colombia.
• That I will be devoted to the Word, prayer, and the tasks at hand and grow closer to the Lord each and every day.
• That the Name of Christ would be great among all peoples as the gospel is proclaimed to the ends of the earth.
Until He Comes,
Kenan
